iPay88 / Alipay
This is especially important for our East-Asia clients. Our current Alipay processor, iPay88 (aka mobile88) has shown incredibly poor performance ever since we started using them. With a close to 50% failure rate on their API, there are simply too many 'dropped' or 'lost' payments for us to continue business with them. As we have been requesting information on how to process refunds for a month now with no reply, we feel it is better to simply stop offering Alipay at this time rather than put clients through this hassle. So starting June 15th, 2011, Alipay will no longer be one of our supported payment methods. We may look into another processor in the future, but for now we can't offer an ETA on when that will be.
Terms of Service / Acceptable Usage Policy
Though we haven't really changed much regarding actual policies, the TOS and AUP have been completely rewritten. We felt that our old documents were too vague or easy to misunderstand on a few key points, so we've taken the time to elaborate on many of the finer details. I'm happy with the end result... though it's lost some of `roguish charm` and friendly presentation that we pride ourselves on, our policies and procedures should be well-documented enough now that there shouldn't be any confusion on exactly how things work here.
Billing Cycles / Invoice Scheduling
Previously, we issued invoices five days ahead of the due date, and gave a ten day grace period to either pay them off, or cancel the service. Though the same net timeframe remains, the dates have shifted a bit. Starting with June, invoices will begin issuing ten days prior to the due date. This leaves a five day grace period before any late fees are added. We're also going to start processing terminations early as well, to make it easier to move stock back into circulation. Any unpaid services will be terminated 15 days after the due date, and the invoice in question will be adjusted to show the correct timespan.
